"Calvin Moon, 21, radio technician, first class, USNR, 428 Prince Street, Bordentown, N.J., is awarded the Commendation Ribbon by Commodore Gail Morgan, commander of a submarine base in the Pacific. The citation, awarded by Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, states: ‘His exceptional skill and proficiency at his battle station materially assisted his Commanding Officer in conducting attacks which resulted in sinking more than 20,000 tons of enemy shipping and damaging more than 5,000 tons.'"
