Description:
Claire Cooper was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and raised in North Bergen.  She attended the University of Florida in Gainesville and graduated in 1964.  From 1965 to 1974, Cooper worked as a writer, editor and editorial director for both the New York Civil Liberties Union and the American Civil LIberities Union National office. She went on to work as a writer and reporter.
