Paul Leath was born in Moberly, Missouri. He received his undergraduate training at the University of Missouri and received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in 1966. Leath joined the Rutgers faculty in 1967 as an Assistant Professor and advanced to Professor II in the Physics Department. During his time at Rutgers, he served in many administrative capacities, including as Associate Provost and Provost for New Brunswick, and Chair of the Physics Department.Interviewees
