Description:
Louis Lechner was born in Jersey City on August 28th, 1921.  He served in the Air Force during World War II.  Lechner attended gunnery school at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and weapons training at the Aerial Gunnery School at Fort Myers. His crew flew from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to British Guiana, Brazil, West Africa, Sudan, Karachi and later, Japan.  Lechner and his crew flew twenty-five missions out of the Marianas in 1945.
