Description:
Lawrence Downey was born on December 19, 1929 in New York, New York. He was inducted into the U.S Army in August 1951. Lawrence Downey served as an infantryman in the 24th Infantry Division, 34th Regiment during the Korean War. He was stationed with the Far East Command in Japan in 1952 and served there until his discharge in August of 1952. After the war, he worked for Foster Wheeler Corporation until his retirement.
