Description:
Dennis Brodkin was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1944.  He graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1961 and came to Rutgers University the same year where he studied History and was involved on campus in ROTC, his fraternity Phi Epsilon Pi, Pre-Legal Society and Hillel.  Upon graduation in 1965, Dennis received a commission into the US Army Reserves.  He received an education deferment and pursued graduated studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  His first active duty assignment in the Army was legal defense At Fort Meade in Maryland.  Later, he was promoted to a First Lieutenant and was sent to Vietnam where he served as an Artillery Officer.  He was awarded a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service during the Vietnam War.  After the war, Dennis worked as a teacher and then earned his law degree from Rutgers Law School and worked as an attorney in New Jersey before moving to the West Coast where he worked as an account manager and loan administrator.
