THE RUTGERS ORAL HISTORY ARCHIVES
THE RUTGERS ORAL HISTORY ARCHIVES
How you can help keep this remarkable program going

The Rutgers Oral History Archives is a landmark program that has set new standards for excellence. But it's also a program that is uniquely vulnerable.

The ROHA is a part of the Rutgers History Department, but it was founded by Rutgers alumni and is funded almost entirely by alumni, friends and history lovers. Without their loyal support, it could not continue to operate.

Since 1994, the program has conducted more than 900 interviews of people who have lived through the wars and social changes of the 20th and 21st centuries.

It has spawned exhibits, lectures, seminars, a History Channel documentary and classes on World War II in which students learn to conduct interviews and utilize the resources they produce.

The impact on people's lives has been profound. For many, their interview has proved cathartic, and for most it has added a new dimension to their lives, augmenting family histories in an especially meaningful way. For students, the program has added new depth to their learning experience.

You can help keep this remarkable program going.
