Nan Hunter was born in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1949.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.  Hunter then went to law school at Georgetown University.  She worked for the ACLU's Reproductive Freedom Project and helped found the LGBT Rights Project and AIDS project there.  Nan Hunter is currently a Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Graduate Programs at Georgetown University.
