Description:
The son of Jewish immigrants from the Russian Empire, Mr. Levy grew up in Newark, NJ, and attended the University of Newark (now Rutgers-Newark) in the 1920s and early 1930s. During World War II, he served with the 42nd Infantry Division in the European Theater.
