Francis Lang, Sr. was born in the Bronx and grew up in New York City. In 1944, Lang would join the US Navy, serving in facilities across the United States, including Brainbridge Navy Hospital. After his service, Lang would use the GI Bill to attend New York University. Lang would go on to have a career working in the metals industry, becoming a manager at International Nickel Corporation, and later, Curtiss Wright Corporation.Interviewees
