Description:
John Montgomery was born in 1922 in Spring Lake, New Jersey, growing up in Red Bank.  Mr. Montgomery was a member of the amateur sailing club, "The Barefoot Yacht Club."  In 1941, Mr. Montgomery enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve, serving as an officer aboard the USS Dennis in the Pacific.  After the war, Mr. Montgomery attended Princeton University making use of his GI Bill benefits to further his education.  During his career, he served as a financial advisor for Smith Barney.
