Description:
Mr. Gulko was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Jewish immigrants from the Ukraine, and was later raised in the Bronx and lived in Paterson, NJ. He served in the 26th Infantry Division, 101st Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, HQ Company, during World War II in Europe, fighting as an infantryman from the Northern France Campaign through V-E Day.  He graduated from the Rutgers University College division in Paterson, NJ, in 1956.
