Description:

Gordon M. Kobler was born and raised in Newark Valley, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944 and served in the 95th Infantry Division as a combat rifleman. He saw combat in France, Belgium and Germany in the final years of World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946, holding the rank of staff sergeant. He then began a career in carpentry for forty two years. Afterwards he became a tax collector for Greenwich Township, where he continues to work to this day. He married his wife, Doris Cole Kobler, in 1942.  Gordon currently resides in Stewartsville, NJ.
