Description:
Born on June 14, 1925 to parents who had emigrated from Greece, Aristotle Gazonas grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Gazonas served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman during World War II. He served on various ships, including the USS Mount McKinley and the USS Wasatch, which was involved in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. After the war, Mr. Gazonas earned his undergraduate degree at Ursinus College and then graduate degrees at Clark University and the Rutgers Graduate School of Education (1976). He worked as a social studies educator and spent many years at Hunterdon Central in Flemington.
