Description:

Mr. Kramer was born and raised in Possumtown, NJ, a part of Piscataway, and graduated from Bound Brook High School. He worked in a Mack Truck factory for two years before enlisting in the US Navy during World War II. He went through boot camp at Great Lakes, IL, then, advanced training at Moffett Field, CA.

He was then shipped to the Pacific where he served served on Nanumea, then, Tulagi in the Solomon Islands, before being assigned to the USS Jupiter (AK-43) as an LCVP crew member and motor machinist. He served in the battles for Angaur Island, Leyte and Luzon in the Philippines and Iwo Jima. After V-J Day, he served in Maui and at Camp Shoemaker, CA, before being discharged.

He returned to work at the Mack Truck plant after the war and later owned gasoline stations in Central New Jersey.
