Description:

Robert Redfield was born in 1922 in New York.  His mother, Tess Redfield, performed with the Ziegfeld Follies, along with Robert’s godmother, Fanny Brice.

As a child, Redfield contracted polio and was unable to walk without support from canes or crutches.  Growing up, he attended Riverside Military Academy, the Peddie School in Hightstown, and the Tilton School in New Hampshire.

He graduated from New York University, and worked for the Asbury Park Press for one year.  He then joined his mother and started a music management agency, booking musical acts and talent throughout New Jersey and New York.  He worked closely with boxer Max Baer, and David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks and Dennis Edwards of The Temptations, and many others.
