Mr. Campeau served in a US Army Air Forces weather forecasting unit during the New Guinea campaign. He then volunteered to join a group of commandoes which was inserted into Mindanao in the Philippines, well in advance of the Allied invasion of the island, to establish a weather station on the island.Interviewees
