Description:

Sigurd Thele was born in Brooklyn in 1928, and raised in various places near New York City during his childhood.  The son of a Norwegian immigrants and of a Methodist pastor, he attended Upsala College (1953) and the Rutgers Graduate School of Education (1959), eventually spending the majority of his career as an educator in New Jersey.  From 1953-1955, Mr, Thele was in the US Army, serving his enlistment in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.  Mr. Thele was also employed by the Flying Tigers airline before retiring from the company in 1989.
