Description:
Alvin "Archie" Fagan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1927.  He is one of eight children of parents who immigrated from Russia and Poland. In June 1944, Fagan entered the Army.  He trained at Camp Wheeler near Macon, Georgia and Camp Pickett in Virginia.  He was later assigned to the Fourth Armored Division, 51st Armored Infantry Battalion.  He earned many decorations for his service in the European Theater during World War II.  After the war, Fagan attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1950.  He had a long career working in supermarkets.
