Description:

Rudolf A. Behrens was born in Rochester, New York on August 14, 1928.  His father emigrated from Germany in the 1920s.  Mr. Behrens spent his childhood in Irvington, New Jersey.  After graduating from Irvington High School, Mr. Behrens attended the College of Agriculture at Rutgers.  He graduated in the Class of 1950.  From 1951 to 1954, Mr. Behrens served in the U.S. Navy and went to Hospital Corps School.  Following graduate school at the University of Delaware, Mr. Behrens worked as a chemist for Ciba-Geigy, American Cyanamid, Texas-US Chemicals and International Latex Corporation.
