Description:

Col. Tracy served in the Marine Corps as a transport quartermaster on the staff of Gen. Holland M. "Howlin' Mad" Smith during World War II, during which time he participated in the amphibious assaults of the Central Pacific Campaign. A graduate of Cornell, Col. Tracy enjoyed a career at Standard Oil Company, engaged in local politics, and stayed in the Marine Corps Reserve until 1971.  History Alive  History Alive '22
